MessageFit (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information collected through our mobile application (“MessageFit” or “the App”), available on iOS and Android.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

MessageFit does not require you to create an account. We do not collect or store any personally identifiable information.

However, we may collect the following types of data:

a. Optional User Data (Stored Locally Only)

You may optionally provide information such as:

Gender
Weight
Height
Activity level
Nutrition goals

This data is used locally on your device to calculate recommended calorie and macro targets. It is not sent to or stored on any server.

b. Search, Barcode Input, Voice Input, Photo scan

When you use features like food search, barcode scanning, voice input, photo scan

The search terms, barcode data or photos are sent to our backend for processing.

This input is anonymous and not persisted - we do not log or associate this data with you or your device.
For speech recognition, the standard system framework is used (iOS/Android)

c. App Usage Data (via Firebase)

We use third-party services, including:

Firebase Analytics – to understand general app usage trends.

Firebase Crashlytics – to diagnose bugs and crashes.

These services may collect:

Device information (e.g., model, OS version)

Crash logs
General app interaction data (e.g., screen views, session length)

This data is aggregated and anonymous and used solely to improve app performance and stability.

d. AI Chat Messages

When you use the AI chat feature:

You do not need to create an account. Instead, a random internal identifier is generated to link your chat sessions.

Chat messages are stored securely on our servers and linked only to this identifier.
If you delete a chat, all associated messages are permanently removed.
Inactive chats will be automatically deleted after 90 days.
Chat messages are private and not accessed by anyone else. The only exception is if you explicitly report a message as inappropriate. In that case, the reported message and the three preceding messages may be reviewed by our moderation team. If inappropriate content is confirmed, the AI model will be adjusted accordingly.

2. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties.

Data is only shared in the following limited circumstances:

With Firebase services for analytics and crash reporting (as outlined above)

3. Data Security

All personal data entered into the app (e.g., age, weight, goals) is stored locally on your device.
We take appropriate measures to ensure any data processed for search functionality or crash reporting is handled securely.

4. Your Rights and Choices

You may choose not to provide any personal data; all profile-related information is optional.

You can delete your locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the app.
You can delete your AI chats at any time within the app. Once deleted, they are permanently removed from our servers.
Since no accounts are created, we do not retain or manage user accounts or remote profiles.

5. Children's Privacy

MessageFit is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect or process data from anyone under the age of 18.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the app or on our official website, along with the effective date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any updates.
